The staff provided genuine New Zealand hospitality and were a wealth of knowledge about the area and events. The games room was a hit with our kids, keeping them entertained for hours with pool, table tennis, board games, and puzzles. The lodge's outdoor pool was a surprising delight, and even though it was winter, our daring kids couldn't resist taking a dip. The location of the lodge was perfect for families with kids, as there were on-mountain kids programs available. we had an amazing time and would highly recommend it to other families.
For dads, it would be great to have a designated children's play area within the lodge.

My recent stay at Southern Cross Lodge was absolutely amazing! The location was perfect, offering stunning views of the mountains and close proximity to the city center. The breakfast selection was enough to fuel me for a full day of skiing, even though I'm not a big breakfast person. The staff, especially Jo, was incredibly lovely and caring, making my sister and I feel so comfortable. Despite a few minor setbacks like a lack of spoons in the room and green residue in the bathroom, the overall experience was fantastic. I also appreciated the option for gluten-free and dairy-free breakfast catering. The place was clean, quiet, and had a great view, making it a perfect choice for a peaceful getaway. Despite the small issues, I would definitely recommend this lodge for a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I'll definitely be coming back to Southern Cross Lodge in the future!

The comfy lounge is the place to be for unwinding and making new friends while enjoying the beautiful views. Methven's location amidst stunning mountains and rivers is perfect for outdoor adventures. The lodge's wellness center with a hot tub is a bonus.
Couldn't complain if I wanted to, just a flawless experience.

I had a great time during my girls' weekend away at Southern Cross Lodge. The accommodation was basic but lovely, and kept clean and tidy. We enjoyed swimming in the pool and relaxing in the hot tub. The hotel had great communal spaces with lounges where we socialized, played games like pool and table tennis, and even had a cozy fireplace. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location was convenient for exploring nearby attractions such as Opuke Hot Pools and the Methven walkway. Tea, coffee, and breakfast were also included, which was a nice bonus.
Would be happy to recommend this hotel.

The views from our room were absolutely breathtaking. We woke up to stunning scenery every morning. The staff was incredibly warm and friendly, making us feel right at home. And the location couldn't have been better for our romantic escape - close to Mt Hutt for our snowboarding adventure and just a short drive to the hot pools for a relaxing soak.
The bed wasn't the most comfortable. We could feel the divide between the two singles put together, which made it quite hard and made it difficult to get a good night's sleep.

We got great value for our money with clean and tidy accommodation. The location was perfect, with the Opuke Hot Pools and Methven walkway close by. The staff were friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome even during a busy time.
The morning meal could have had more variety of juices, especially for those allergic to orange. A little hot chocolate option would have been a nice addition too.

We had a fantastic stay at this lodge! The staff were so welcoming and attentive, making us feel right at home. The rooms were fresh and bright, with gorgeous mountain views. The bathroom had nice finishings and everything was well fitted out. The common room was cozy and had games and a fire. The continental breakfast was excellent, with many choices. We loved the location, being able to watch the sunrise each morning was amazing!
The sound insulation could be improved.
